AWESOME 5.91 AT 247 RECORDED BY THE HMR GTO

Indianapolis, IN (October 9, 2011) – Clint “The Milkman” Hairston put the hammer down at the NMCA World Finals running an incredible 5.91 at 247, the Quickest Small Block door car in history and still the Fastest Small Block in drag racing Period! Unfortunately the effort came on a test run Sunday afternoon after going out of competition in the second round against Joe Dunne the eventual Pro Street winner and new NMCA 2012 World Champion. Congratulations to Joe’s team for a job well done.

“To say our NMCA Bowling Green and Indy outings were disappointing would be a huge understatement”, commented Team Owner Jim Hairston. “We have found new ways to qualify poorly and get beat early including a broken clutch, faulty clutch switch, broken rear end and broken transmission. Fortunately, after fixing our problems and making a few changes in our tune-up, the HMR GTO put down a great test run Sunday afternoon. Our thanks to the NMCA Officials for letting us make the run”, Hairston further commented.

Clint commented, “My Dad was really disappointed after our second round loss but convinced Jake and I to make one more pass. The results speak for themselves and obviously made the ride home much more enjoyable. I knew we were on great run and I had to really drive my butt off to keep the car in the groove. Jake learned a lot from that run and we feel very confident that we can continue to improve.”

The HMR team will be headed to Las Vegas for the NHRA National Event October 28-30 to compete in the last Get Screened America Pro Mod event of the season followed by the Super Street Car Nationals November 17-20 also in Las Vegas.

Hairston Motorsports & Racing would like to give special thanks to Lucas Oil for being our title sponsor this year and also thank our many other loyal sponsors; Pertronix, Duttweiler Performance, Precision Turbo, XS Power, Powermaster, Racepak, Hoosier Tire, K&N, Crower Clutches, Lenco, Comp Cams, Dart, T&D Machine, Scat crankshafts, Hogan Manifolds, Jesel, Strange, Motive Gear, Inland Empire Driveline, SCE Gaskets, Starside Design, Specialty Fasteners, Russell, Brodix and ARP for their continuing support.
